Acapulco Shopping

A complete Different and Authentic Experience

When taking a break from the beach and the many activities, tours and night entertainment that Acapulco has to offer, shopping can be a quite pleasant distraction. Most people will purchase souvenirs, beach wear and very specially artistic and unique hand made pieces of crafted objects made by artisans from different parts of Mexico, in clay, ceramic, wood, glass, cloth and nit fabrics. Even if you don’t buy, the visit to one of these Markets is enlightening, as a visit to a museum would be, with the only difference that objects here are live and real. You will also find a large variety of Jewelry, semiprecious gems with gold and silver, produced from the Mexican mines and very specially from the Silver Mines in the close by Colonial City of Taxco. In different sectors of the Acapulco Costera Avenue, you will find Flea Type Markets where merchants have got together to manage their outlets in a unionized set up where competition among them opens the possibility of bargaining the price which will always be expected by the merchant..

When it comes to Beach wear, in addition to designer models and brands, Acapulco has developed a quite organized confectioning industry with swimming suites, bikinis, thongs, pareos, robes, shorts, T-Shirts, sandals, bags and more… In the Historic Down town area you still find the stores of the pioneers that sponsored the development of these industries, but where in addition, you will find apparel, dresses, blouses, shorts, pants and many other items made by Big City industries from all over Mexico. The biggest supply of these items will be found at Sears where 90% of articles sold are Mexico Manufactured. You will also find Jewelries and Silver stores where quality is more dependable. Some of these original stores opened branch shops along the Costera, in the section opposite to Condesa Beach in the area from the Diana Circle to the El Presidente Hotel Traffic Light. Furthermore  some of these stores are also present at the Acapulco Malls such as:
