There are several museums in the City and one of them was the house Quinta Luz where Pancho and his first wife raised a family, although Pancho would get married any place his war campaign would take him. General Villa’s army was a cavalry militia, but he would also impound Government trains to move fast from one place to another. Women would follow their men along the fighting areas and also played an important role in the Mexican Revolution. Museums as well as the Government Palace have Murals and pictures showing the happenings of such an important confrontation that cost the Country in that 17 year period, an estimated 3 million lives. Fortunately the Revolution brought a New Constitution and a series of reforms that changed the pace of the Country with education, health, job freedom, and placed the country in a leading position among Latin America Countries.


When visiting Chihuahua, there are many attractions you might not want to miss. The Government Palace and the Murals will be a memorable experience. You will see at the Museo de la Revolución Mexicana the 1913 model car in which Pancho Villas life was terminated in an ambush in 1923. Visit the Quinta Luz House of Pancho Villa’s wife, as well as his General Headquarters. You will see authentic old furniture and revolutionary objects,  including a photo of the Adelita women of the revolution train. Quinta Gameros is a gorgeous house built with passion, an art nouveau nest of love, full of talent, including the walls. This house was built by Architect Gameros for the woman he was in love with and she said yes to marriage, once the house was completed.


The City of Chihuahua had a significant role in History with some important colonial testimonials as well as some Pre-Hispanic constructions that show how the aborigines developed methods of water containment and distribution in an area where liquid was scarce. But very specially, Chihuahua played a very important role during the Mexican Revolution, an internal popular confrontation that lasted from 1910 to 1927. The warfare was all over the Country, but one of the most powerful leaders surged in Chihuahua and his name was Pancho Villa who controlled the North of the Country and part of the Central States. Since he was born and died in the State of Chihuahua, the City is full of Testimonials on his life and the Mexican Revolution.


Many People from New Mexico , Texas and Arizona visit Chihuahua for its important attractions, but also as a route by train through the Copper Canyon in search of the Beaches on the Sea of Cortes and the Pacific Ocean, such as Los Mochis, Topolobampo and Mazatlan. The Chihuahua-Pacific Railroad is one of the most impressive engineering accomplishments in Mexico, completed in 1961, with a total length of 941 Kilometers and has 410 bridges and 99 tunnels. The tracks maximum height is 2450 meters above Sea Level and all the way descents to the coast in an extraordinary, mostly touristy journey. The most attractive places where the train stops are Creel, Divisadero, San Rafael, Cuiteco, Bahuichivo (Cerocahui), Temoris (Chinipas) and El Fuerte (Sinaloa).
