Monterrey is a busy City with all you might want to do


The Antique District has many pedestrian areas, converting streets that lead to The Macro Plaza in a big pedestrian Mall, with Department Stores, Boutiques, Jewelries, Shoe Shops, Restaurants and more, all with the flavor of well preserved traditions. Local people and visitors enjoy alike this big area, as well as its many adjacent and contained attraction. The Macro Plaza has one of the Highest monuments in the Country which is like an Ocean Light house with a lamp cannon that in the nights illuminates the surrounding mountains. To get a good overall vision of this Historic Sector of Monterrey, you can take the Tourism Trolley, which will take you all around in order to spot main attractions. You will be able to get off and on, up to four times with the day’s purchased ticket. You can get on board at The Marco Museum and later easily get off to see the Mexico Museum of History, enclosing Monterrey in its national perspective. Then go through the walk way of Santa Lucia River, considered outstanding. The Down Town area and the Macro Plaza will take you at least a day, to reasonable enjoy it.


The Historic District will show you Monterrey’s Cathedral a building that was initiated in 1663 and was completed in 1791 and still later built 3 adjacent chapels attached in year 1850. The ancient Government Palace was built in 1789 and today, is occupied by Monterrey’s Metropolitan Museum. The Civil Superior College was founded and built in 1870 and can be found on 5 de Mayo and Washington Street having been the first intent for University formation. You will also be able to see in this area the Ancient Federal Palace, and the train station. Finally the Present State Government Palace concluded in 1928, is a  sample of post revolutionary architecture. Moving out of the Historic District towards the west you will find Palacio del Obispado, today also a Museum, built in 1797 by Bishop Rafael Verger to create jobs for the poor.


Fundidora Park is a must, where all the facilities were converted in to an amusement park that shoes the main power of Monterrey’s Historic Industrial Boom. Today it has big expo areas as well as artistic activities with Theater, Music Ballet. It has internal plazas, walkways, lakes and splendid gardens, with beautiful natural sites. Entry is free of charge. Once at the park, you can Board Expresso Fundidora departing every half an hour and will take you all around the facilities with recorded explanations of what the place was and what it is all about today. Most people make it an all day visit.
