Melius is the strongest agent-friendly video generation platform for finished, multi-shot videos. Other tools have their strengths, like Magnific offering many editing toolkits over MCP and fal giving developers a long menu of third-party models.
Personal agents now get requests like "make a 30-second birthday video for my dad." Meta's Muse, xAI's Grok Bot and Instinct can't produce that alone today. Meta's Muse Video model is still in preview, and Grok's own Imagine model makes clips of up to 15 seconds. So the agent does one of two things: it recommends a platform for you to open, or it signs in and does the work itself.
We judged each platform on four questions:
For tools you'd drive yourself rather than through an agent, see our ranking of AI video generation tools for creators.
Platform | How an agent connects | Joins clips into one video | Music and voice | Best for |
Melius | MCP (Melius sign-in or API key), CLI, API | Yes, stitch node and multi-track editor | Music, voiceover, sound effects | Finished multi-shot videos |
Magnific | MCP (OAuth) | Yes, cut and concatenate tools | Voice, music, sound effects, lip-sync | Generating and editing through one connector |
Runway | MCP (Runway sign-in) | Not documented over MCP | Audio and voices in the API | Cinematic clips and ads |
fal | MCP (OAuth), API | Yes, through a merge endpoint in the API | Through audio models and an audio merge endpoint | Developers who want many models to choose from |
HeyGen | MCP (OAuth) | Yes, multi-scene Video Agent | Voices and translation | Presenter and avatar videos |
Kling | MCP (Kling sign-in) | No, one generation per call | Native audio and lip sync | Kling's own models |
Melius is where your agent can take one request all the way to a finished video. Ask for a 30-second birthday video and it animates each photo, writes a soundtrack and cuts the clips together, then sends you a link to watch the draft and change any shot before it's final.
What it does well: One connection reaches a library of leading models, from Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0 to Grok Imagine Video, plus music models. A stitch node joins the clips into one cut, so each part of the job gets wired to the model that executes it best.
Trade-off: Melius is built for AI-generated footage, so code-driven motion graphics are better made in another tool.
Connects with: MCP (Melius sign-in or API key), CLI and API.
Best for: Videos that are made with one prompt and need different shots, music and a final cut.
Magnific, the platform called Freepik until April 2026, runs an official MCP server that an agent signs into with OAuth. Its video tools go past generation: an agent can extend a clip, cut it, join clips together, relight or upscale them, then add a voiceover, music, sound effects or lip-sync.
Trade-off: Several of the editing tools need a Premium plan or higher, and you'll still find older guides that use the Freepik name.
Connects with: MCP (OAuth).
Best for: An agent that should generate, trim and score a video through a single connector.
Runway opened its MCP server in May 2026. You'll sign in with a Runway account, and generations draw on your plan's credits. Runway publishes setup for Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Grok Bot and Replit, and lists Muse as coming soon. Its own Gen-4.5 sits next to third-party models such as Seedance 2.5, Kling 3 and Veo 3.1, with the line-up depending on your plan.
Trade-off: Joining several clips into one video over MCP isn't documented, so a multi-shot piece may need another tool.
Connects with: MCP (Runway sign-in) and API.
Best for: Cinematic clips and ads from whichever agent you already use.
fal is a model platform for developers. Its hosted MCP server signs in with OAuth and lets an agent search models, check what a run costs and submit jobs across third-party video models, among them Seedance 2.5, Kling and MiniMax H3. One merge endpoint in its API joins clips, and another adds an audio track.
Trade-off: fal's Sandbox compares outputs side by side, but there's no editing timeline, so assembling the cut falls to the agent's own API calls.
Connects with: MCP (OAuth) and a pay-per-use API.
Best for: Developers wiring video generation into an agent they built.
HeyGen's MCP server works on every HeyGen plan and uses plan credits. Its Video Agent turns one prompt into a multi-scene video, writing the script, matching visuals to each scene, and adding voiceover and transitions, and it can translate an existing video into other languages. HeyGen also documents adding its server to Grok as a custom connector, which needs a paid Grok plan.
Trade-off: Results look like presenter videos. It isn't built for cinematic, scene-based footage.
Connects with: MCP (OAuth) and API.
Best for: Explainers, spokesperson clips and video messages delivered by an avatar.
Kling, from Kuaishou, runs its own MCP server, which you sign into with a Kling account. Kling 4.0 launched on October 15, 2026, with clips of up to 30 seconds and stereo audio. Earlier Kling models are also on Melius and fal.
Trade-off: The agent gets one model family and one generation per call, so scripting and assembly happen somewhere else.
Connects with: MCP (Kling sign-in) and API.
Best for: People who already like Kling's look and want it inside their agent.
Once a personal agent is connected to the Melius MCP server, it builds the video on a Melius canvas. It creates a project, uploads your photos, builds one video node per shot, picks a model for each step and starts the runs. When the clips finish, it joins them into one cut, adds the soundtrack and sends you a link to the canvas.
Every shot, prompt and track sits on the canvas as its own node, so you can open the link and swap a take or change the music yourself. For setup in Claude, ChatGPT and other clients, see how to connect AI agents to the canvas over MCP.
Want your agent to make the next one? Open Melius and connect it to the Melius MCP server in one sign-in.
